Please guys polish it and get it upstream. Whenever I do some scripted changes this will break. The code can be reduced a lot using xdg: icon URLs.

Albert has builtin icon lookup support. Using xdg:<appname> is sufficient.

Is there any current workaround to have a working app switcher? From what I can understand from issues/PR history is that the previous python plugin was deprecated.

Also, the script above is not working for v0.23 right?

I can't do anything about it. I don't use X11 as my daily driver. Nobody is interested in merging, polishing and sending a PR.

Btw the python API is still v2.x so it should work.

So there is no solution for Wayland either?

Script neither is working when using Xorg. Hard to debug as there is no info on errors, logs in the doc.
