The shop I work for still uses source files, has large numbers of libraries, and large numbers of source members in each library.
With RDi, I am used to using the object table and its powerful filter to find and load source. I can input library, source file, and member name wildcards to find source.
E.g., if I have:
Then I can just type into the object table filter:
And I can very quickly get a sortable table view of both the prod and dev versions of both the RPG and SQL sources (and any other similarly named source in other source files in these libs.
I've always found this quick and powerful
In contrast, I am finding opening source in VSCode Code for IBMi somewhat slow and cumbersome. I have to create a persistent filter with the settings, and then navigate down a nested tree view with each expand (of lib, and source file) being a separate data load from the server, as opposed to a table view. Or use the Go To File button and input a fully qualified path to the single member I want to open.
Has creating a view like the RDi object table, been considered for Code for IBMi?
