Contributor displays are cached stats, not a live read of history. Per the GitHub docs, after force pushing or rewriting history, contributor displays and statistics take about 24 hours to refresh. While waiting, check the old commits are gone from the whole default branch history, not just the branch you rewrote. A merge commit or leftover ref that still reaches them keeps the author counted, and filter-repo only rewrites the refs you pass it. If they are still listed after 24 hours and none of their commits are in the default branch anymore, only GitHub Support can rebuild the stats. There is no setting or button for it on the repo side. |

Subject: Request to Refresh Repository Contributors Statistics
Hello GitHub Support Team,
I'm experiencing an issue with the Contributors section across my personal GitHub repositories under the account @creator-69.
A previous collaborator, @technopathir, is still displayed in the Contributors section of my repositories, even though I have rewritten the relevant Git history and force-pushed the cleaned history to GitHub.
I have already taken the following steps:
git-filter-repo.technopathirare no longer present. For example, in this repository:
https://github.com/creator-69/creater
I checked all 17 available commit records, and none of them has
technopathiras the author. However, GitHub still displays technopathir (Mobina Karimi) in the repository's Contributors section.
I have encountered similar behavior across multiple repositories under my account.
My request:
Could you please investigate this issue and refresh or rebuild the contributor statistics for my repositories?
I believe the Contributors section may be displaying outdated cached data from the previous repository history.
I would appreciate your help in removing this outdated contributor attribution while preserving the current repository contents and commit history.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards,
creator-69
