Taiwan is still not a supported region for receiving GitHub Sponsors payouts, so maintainers living here cannot open a Sponsors profile.

I’m Chia-Ping Tsai, Apache Kafka PMC member and board member of TAIONE, a new open source foundation in Taiwan backed by government, academia and industry. The community I lead has about 3,000 members with around 760 active contributors. Dozens of them are committers across more than ten projects, with three or more committers each in Apache Kafka, Airflow, Ozone, YuniKorn and Flyte. Four of this year’s top 15 Apache Airflow contributors by commits are from Taiwan.

Could the Sponsors team share whether Taiwan is on the roadmap and what is blocking it? We are happy to help with local compliance information or act as a pilot group.
