How do I test my binary locally with pnpm?

pnpm link --global says "Makes the current local package accessible system-wide, or in another location." I would have assumed this would symlinked any binaries I have specified in my package.json:bin property such that they behave like binaries downloaded via bin, eg pnpm add -g @nestjs/cli adds the program nest to my path, however that doesn't seem to be the case...

So, I want to pnpm <do-something> and then be able to have my bin command (mycmd) accessible thanks to my pnpm envvar. How do I achieve this?

Seems to work if I change my package name to mycmd, but if my package name is @myorg/mypackage with bin: { mycmd: "build/index.js" } pnpm link --global says there were no binaries

Nevermind, looks like my environment just got corrupted somehow, I was able to remove all of my linked packages, and then reapplying pnpm link worked as expected.
