Why are previous notice domains not matched with the AIUB website domain?

We always use a custom domain to check for notices because we utilize Cloudflare caching to reduce the load on the AIUB website. This is done by checking every 5 minutes. In addition, our previous method of checking did not support replacing the domain.

Why do I see the posts late or don’t get any notification?

In the Facebook phone app after clicking the like button or follow button click the 3dot menu button & select "Manage follow settings" then set the "News Feed" from default to Favorites. Also for other social media services, there should be an option to get notified when we posted.

Can you reduce the update interval time from 5 minutes to X seconds?

Sorry, GitHub Actions shortest interval to run scheduled workflows is once every 5 minutes. In order to provide a more reliable experience, they've set this minimum time period.

Why do you use free Top-Level Domain (TLD)?

We are students and cannot afford to waste money on purchasing commercial domains. That is why we have to use free domains. Additionally, we only use them to check for new notices.

Why did notice domains change from aiub.cf to www.aiub.edu or will you change the notice domain again in the future?

Earlier we depends on some services to check for new notices but from 13 December 2022, we started to use our own checker so now we've full control over posts. Also, free domains like aiub.cf raise some security concerns.

How can I access an old notice after the notice domain gets changed?

aiub.cf domain is still working so, you can access notices from old notice posts.

Can I contribute to the project?

I would be incredibly grateful for any pull requests that you might have. It'll help us to keep the service alive.

Do you take permission from AIUB authorities before launching this service?

Should we? This is a free service to help students focus on their studies more instead of keeping refreshing the notice page for new notices. If any AIUB authority has any problem, don't hesitate to contact us at support@aiub.cf

Are you going to keep the service alive?

This automated system depends on GitHub Actions. As long as they provide those services for free there is no reason to shut this down.

Do you get any profit to run this service or what is your benefit?

This is a Non-Profit Service. Also, this system is fully automated, so it never costs us time at all.
