Web.com Reviews Explores Reasons Why the Moon Landing Could Have Been Faked

Introduction The Apollo moon landing was a significant mission in humanity’s history for several reasons. It marked a new era of looking beyond our blue planet and a great time of scientific advancement. According to Web.com Reviews, just a few years later, many believed the moon landing was faked by the US government to win the space race against the Soviet Union during the cold war era. Let’s look at the reasons why people still believe the moon landing could have been faked:

The Reasons

  1. Red, Blue, and White flapping in the wind - If you take a look at the pictures from the Apollo 11 mission you would find the American flag flapping in the wind. However, that’s just not possible since there is no wind or atmosphere for that matter on the lunar surface. That’s clear proof of NASA staging the moon landing in a Hollywood studio, right?

Well, it couldn’t be further away from the truth. A still and sagging American flag doesn’t really make for a good photo, especially when mankind has taken their first steps on the moon. So, NASA designed special flags with a horizontal rod to make the flags stick out. However, astronauts had quite a hard time to extend the flag all the way and that created a ripple effect.

  1. The shadows are messed up - In the images from the moon landing, you can see a few objects even when they are shrouded in shadows. That wouldn’t be possible if the Sun was the only source of light. Hollywood must be behind this, right?

In this case, the skeptics and conspiracy theorists are right about one thing. The Sun wasn’t the only source of light. It was the primary source of illumination, but definitely not the only source of light. The lunar ground itself acts as a highly reflective surface and reflects the sun’s light. So, the light gets scattered on the ground and enough of it gets scattered into the shadows to make a few things visible.

  1. Armstrong’s camera isn’t visible - In one of the pictures from the Apollo 11 mission, you can clearly see Armstrong’s image along with the lunar module and the surrounding lunar surface reflected on Buzz Aldrin’s visor. However, in that reflection, Armstrong doesn’t hold any camera. So, some people believe that the image must have been shot by someone else.

Fortunately for most and unfortunately for some, this conspiracy theory doesn’t hold any ground either. Armstrong couldn’t move around with a bulky hand-held camera with his bulky suit. He had a camera mounted at the front of his suit since it was easier and less laborious to manipulate. In the picture, we can also see Armstrong’s hands at that position.

Conclusion Web.com Reviews believes that we should always look further into the facts before believing in any theory behind a well-established incident. Conspiracy theories make for good entertainment. However, it is better to treat them just as entertaining stories as long as they aren’t backed by compelling evidence.
