I am unable to select content/interact with the currently viewed item when using wallop--fade.css.

Which version of wallop are you using?
I believe your issue is related to this: #54
I will push a fix very soon and update this.

@peduarte you're right. I've created a PR #57. I downloaded it today via bower, so I guess the latest (v2.2.2)?
