"Unhandled exception" occurring #50
Comments
To be clear, this exception happens in GeDoSaToTool? Are you sure you are running as admin? |
Yes to the first question. As to the second, insofar as it is possible for me to be certain about it, yes; not only do I "run as administrator", but the start menu shortcut has "run as administrator" ticked. I have also tried running the app directly (not from start menu), as admin of course. I have tried placing the extracted contents in several different locations, including C:\ and "C:\Program Files (x86)". The only reason I tried every permutation I can think of is that I seem to be the only one who has encountered this problem. Given the unique nature of this issue, I would have to guess that the problem lies in the fact that I am using an uncommon / new-ish card (R9 290X), with its adherent unexpected incompatibilities. |
It's almost impossible for this issue to be GPU-related, as the tool doesn't even do anything with the GPU. It's almost certainly some kind of security/permissions issue. Do you have a virus scanner / protection thing running? |
No. My Win7 is, in effect, a clean install. Just about the only thing I've done to it is disable UAC and install Steam. One thing I will note, though, is that even with Divinity's laughably low-end supported AA (MSAA x1), and even with my reasonably beefy GPU, the game seems incapable of guaranteeing 60fps. So it could be that supersampling would be a mistake, thanks to a poor engine. |
I'm having the same problem as Asterra. And, it happens for the latest version 'Chaos Flare'. Well, I copied the downloaded files from my laptop to my desktop with OS win 8.1 64-bit. Previously, I used the same version of gedosato with win 7 64-bit & gedosato worked perfectly for games with final fantasy xiii, dark souls ii. I have always ran gedosato as administrator. Updated all of the Visual C++ 2015, 2013, 2012, 2008 & also the DOT NET FX. But, the problem persist. And the program just doesn't hook to any games at all. And, YES the UEFI Secure booting was turned off all the time. My windows 8.1 is a clean & legit install & my Desktop PC specs are - |
Fixed in the update pushed today. |
I get this when clicking "alternative injection" or "start with Windows", or indeed "default injection" assuming I ignore the error. In-game (Divinity: Original Sin) there is no change under any circumstance, presumably as the alternative injection is reportedly required, and/or some facet of this bug is preventing the injection from working as a whole. Running as admin with UAC disabled.
Win7 64, R9 290X, i7-980X.
