Siri seeing agents

The mobile app already lives on the home screen (usage widget, agent activity, Live Activity, share-in, dictation). Those are windows. App Intents would be the door — Shortcuts, Action Button, Spotlight, Control Center, Siri phrases.

I’m not proposing a rewrite. I’m asking which door, if any, you want this year.

What’s already true

Doing intents on RN and on #5178 is the same work twice. Doing them on #5178 before that PR is a product is work that disappears.

A tight first set (if the answer isn’t “not this year”)

Open-only, or open-then-act. No new agent host on the phone.

1. Open thread / latest agent
2. Approve pending question
3. Send prompt to current thread
4. Show usage (Codex / Claude)
5. New task on last project

Phrases like “approve in T3 Code”, “ask T3 Code …”, “T3 Code usage”. Long-running turns stay in the app; the intent either opens or fires one RPC and stops. Pairing tokens stay in Keychain + App Group — the intent process is short-lived.

Android is a different system. Ignore it until iOS has a shape.

The actual question

Which client owns this?

• A. Thin Swift module on the shipping Expo app (same pattern as terminal / share / widgets)
• B. Wait for #5178 / apps/swift-ios
• C. Not this year — widgets + dictation are enough

If A or B, which two verbs first?

What I’ll do / won’t do

Happy to:

• keep the intent catalog + phrases on paper until you pick
• device-check #10350 on a phone if you want a human pair of eyes on the selected widget fix (not a drive-by review on the overlapping PR)
• write the declaration layer only (AppIntent + AppShortcutsProvider + deep-link / one RPC) if you choose A and name the verbs

Won’t:

• open a feature PR unasked
• stack more work on #5178
• invent a second widget stack
• treat dictation as unfinished Siri

I'm all for it! I think app Intents are getting upgraded in Expo 58 as well?
