Adding an initial .gitignore to ignore all the files created by a "cmake .; make;"

no problem - ultimately - placing the output files in a sub-dir and just
gitignoring that is probably the way to go but we are just feeling it out I
know so wanted to give an example - u will get the swing of Git quick I'm
sure - lots easier than learning C++ :-)
