If I leave about half a second between key presses, forward delete works as expected.

I'm on a 15" MBP Retina if it's helpful.

This has to do with the delay that's built into the Caps-Lock, Eject, and Power keys. Apple makes them a little bit harder to accidentally hit.

The NoEjectDelay project has fixed it for Eject. We'll see if we can do the same for Power.

Same problem here. For what it's worth, also on a 15" MBP Retina.
