This is a Work in Progress branch that has a flaged Pull-Request to enable discussions.
I have started a new development Branch 2.0.dev to focus on a reimplementation of plone.versioncheck that has a wider scope and more lightweight data structure.
At the moment I do started to write documentations first before I will start implementing functionality.
Help and comments welcome.
