I recently purchased this keyboard for work and will be sharing my layouts in the ergodox/ subdirectory. It's been difficult to adapt to at first, but I can already see the benefits of the layout and the customization.
Karabiner is a Mac OS utility for customizing your keyboard.
I use the following modifications on a day to day basis and find they improve my efficiency. You can find them in karabiner/complex_modifications.
- SpaceFN and VIM arrow keys
- Holding space will trigger the FN layer and hjkl will act as arrow keys
- Caps lock to control or escape
- Caps lock will send control when pressed with other keys
- It will send escape if pressed alone
- Shift key taps to parenthesis
- Tapping the left shift will send a left parenthesis, holding will send a shift key
- Same as above for right shift
