Can you add a "Show close button" option so we can get rid of the close button? There should also be an option for the Left Super Key to do nothing. What if I want to use the Super Key as a modifier but not launch anything? Right now the user is forced to choose between launching applications, launcher or workspaces but some might want to use it as a modifier only and not a launcher for anything.

I'm currently on this, however I'd like to split that up into smaller PRs instead of a big one:

  • Add Show active window hint button (PR: Add show active window hint button #672)
  • Add Show legacy app headers button deprecated
  • Add Launching windows below a minimum size "decider"
  • Add floating window exception

I'd retreat for this issue, so anyone can do the rest of this.

Not contributing to this project, so I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this but will there be a tiling option to change the gaps between windows like currently exists in Pop 22.04?

@shupcher That has already been implemented in the Appearance settings page.

Can someone please explain why the option to Show Legacy App Headers is deprecated? Will that not be an option, or will it be pushed back for a later release? Thanks.

As far as I know legacy app headers are the title bars of apps that use server side decorations. In other words toggling it off removes titlebars from apps that do not use libcosmic or libadwaita. It is a very common config for people with keyboard centric workflows, since you don't use window buttons the title bar is just a waste of space.

Where did you see that it was deprecated? The issue is open, it just wasn't implemented yet.

@PoisonFrog Tornax had a list of features for that page in an earlier comment that had "Show Legacy app headers" crossed off and marked as deprecated. If you scroll up this thread, you can see it

I'm sorry for the confusion. I marked it as "deprecated" because the "Show legacy app headers" shouldn't be under Settings > Desktop > Window Management anymore. It wasn't supposed to be seen as: "This feature won't be added".

I'm sorry but which issue should I look at, to track progress of this feature?

I don't know, sorry.

I think the legacy app headers should be there since the window buttons are there, doesn't make sense to place them apart. The way I see it these settings are related.
