The URL for requestb.in seems to have expired - was this section for initial testing purposes and is it needed now?

It was just an example. You could make your own to actually try it, but it might be worth removing.

I do like the idea for having an example - how about commenting the example script so it's not sending information by default but is still there for expansion/customization purposes?

Sure - no problem. I'll submit a PR that has the lines commented out
