Hello PyBAMM!
I am looking to understand how the Li plating happend and review the source code of$\eta_{Li}=\phi_{s}-\phi_{e}-\eta_{SEI}$ , implying that it is the difference between the
plating.py
in thelithium_plating
folder. Upon reviewing theget_coupled_variables
function, I noticed that the overpotential for Li stripping is defined as the sum of theelectrode surface potential difference
and theelectrode SEI film overpotential
(eta_stripping = delta_phi + eta_sei
). This definition appears to differ from the one provided in Okane’s paper (Okane 2022), where the overpotential for Li plating is expressed aselectrode surface potential difference
and theelectrode SEI film overpotential
.Although I have read the discussion eta_stripping / eta_plating #2031, it does not appear to address the sign discrepancies in the equations. The discrepancy between the definition in the code and paper is still confusing to me.
Any insights or assistance would be greatly appreciated!
