Thanks @avalentino for the approval. I've just added a new advert asking for new maintainers as the first section in the README. I'll wait until tomorrow for some other feedback, and I plan to do the release shortly after that. |

This is a proposal for releasing 2.8.7 with support for Python 3.12 wheels (Python 3.7 and 3.8 wheels are not being generated anymore; IMO supporting 4 versions is enough, and the standard for other projects like NumPy). Also, and following NumPy 1.25 decision, this PR generates wheels for musllinux too, but only for x86_64, as building them for arm64 takes way too long (this is the same decision as NumPy folks took as well).
