PEP 610: Recording the Direct URL Origin of installed distributions

Is there anything else that I can do to progress with this?
I'm willing to start implementing pypa/pip#609, which, as far as I understood the process, is marked as blocked waiting for this PEP to be merged.

it looks like Chris is unavailable at least for PyPA stuff since a couple of months now. I hope he is well.

Where do we stand:

• nobody said it is a bad idea
• Chris thought it is a good idea, sponsored then co-authored it
• the commit history shows careful and extensive editorial work has been done (huge thanks to Chris for that)
• the chosen terminology is the result of extensive discussion between Chris and myself (in private emails unfortunately)

The PR is open since 3 months now. I sincerely hope someone else can pick up the last part of admin work (i.e. merging this), and therefore unlock pypa/pip#609 🙏

Of course I remain fully open to comments, questions and improvement suggestions.

@sbidoul I have gone ahead and merged the PEP and assigned it PEP 610, but if Chris is absentee now you will need to find a sponsor to help you through the PEP process going forward.
