Hi there,

I'm interested in using your software as the basis for a hex view component in an IDE I'm developing. However, there is no license file in the project so I'm not sure whether you allow derivative projects. Can you tell me what the license of your project is?

Thanks

Thanks for interest, the code comes from GPL license at
http://code.google.com/p/qhexedit2/

So it should be GPL

Hi, I have contacted the original developer, asking for permission to
relicense as LGPL (align with QT5), I will let you know the response

I transferred the QHexEdit2 to https://github.com/Simsys/qhexedit2
https://owa.nexus.ox.ac.uk/owa/redir.aspx?C=012hyGomyE-NVKNq_ksLw192DtY9RNIIvElfUIODsoALI1-GvrtyxTKbiRmeSM-flOxgDVtmz2c.&URL=https%3a%2f%2fgithub.com%2fSimsys%2fqhexedit2
and I will maintain it there.

The code is already licensed under LGPL 2.1, so I do not understand, what
you want to change.

See: https://github.com/Simsys/qhexedit2/blob/master/src/license.txt
https://owa.nexus.ox.ac.uk/owa/redir.aspx?C=012hyGomyE-NVKNq_ksLw192DtY9RNIIvElfUIODsoALI1-GvrtyxTKbiRmeSM-flOxgDVtmz2c.&URL=https%3a%2f%2fgithub.com%2fSimsys%2fqhexedit2%2fblob%2fmaster%2fsrc%2flicense.txt

Thanks for writing me again and making it clear, what you need. I will be
happy to help you.
