requiring instead of importing

Hey guys!
I'm having the following error when rendering

Element type is invalid: expected a string (for built-in components) or a class/function (for composite components) but got: object.

This happens only when using

const Steps = require('rc-steps');

Instead of

import Steps from 'rc-steps';

The problem is that, because a limitation at my work, I can't use import. Is there any other workaround to make this module work with require?
