Harmony-Tools is a tool designed to aid in the translation of the video game Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. It can unpack and pack different files used by the game and can be compared to Liquid-S/Danganronpa-Another-Tool.
All commands are pretty much non-interactive and can be used through your favorite terminal, such as Konsole, CMD, or PowerShell.
Most people don't enjoy using the terminal, and that's completely understandable! It can be difficult to navigate and type commands quickly, so Harmony-Tools also has a graphical interface in the form of a context menu added to Microsoft Windows Explorer.
A very important notice: Harmony-Tools does not have its own graphical interface. You cannot directly edit the game's files with it. Instead, you can use it to convert the game's files to known formats (for example, you can convert .SRD files to .PNG), but then you have to use a third-party program to edit the converted file. Afterward, you can convert it back to the format the game understands.
Keeping that in mind, if you want to translate the game, you should have at least:
- A graphic editor that supports transparency and .PNG, .BMP, and .TGA formats (e.g., GIMP)
- A text editor that can open .JSON and .TXT files (e.g., Notepad++)
- A spreadsheet program that can open .CSV (e.g., LibreOffice's Calc) (It's optional; you can open CSV files directly in most text editors, but it's more comfortable to do it through Calc)
With the help of Harmony-Tools, you can:
- Edit dialogues between characters
- Edit other texts that are displayed in-game, such as dialogue choices
- Replace most textures
- Edit in-game minigame texts (such as the solution for Brain-Drive minigame)
- Add or remove custom characters from the game's fonts
- Extract and replace video files
- Extract in-game scripts (but this is only supported via command-line)
Some things aren't as important when it comes to translation, so support for them has been pushed to the background.
With Harmony-Tools, you cannot:
- Extract or replace audio files (WIP)
- Replace in-game scripts
- Extract or replace 3D models
You can report bugs in the Issues tab.
