My name is Dietrich Rordorf. But people typically call me Didi. I am working on publishing technology and frontends, more specifically within scholarly publishing.
Dietrich is a seasoned publishing and technology professional. He joined MDPI in 2005 and held various roles, including Assistant and Managing Editor, CTO and CEO. He co-founded MDPI AG, the scholarly publishing branch of MDPI, alongside Dr. Shu-Kun Lin in May 2010. He later worked as Software Engineer at IWF AG (contracting role, 2016-2017) and CEO of Ditoy LLC (digital agency, 2018-2020) implementing customer-centric software solutions in various industries. In 2020, he rejoined MDPI AG assuming the role of a project manager within product & technology. He is presently dedicated to implementing customer-centric and value generating, web-based publishing solutions, spearheading the development of a new frontend technology stack, and leading the frontend team. He graduated in business & economics from the University of Basel in 2011 and is enrolled in a master’s program in business information systems at FHNW (expected completion: 2/2024). His research interest includes AI-based solutions in publishing. In his spare time, he organizes and participates in hackathons.

- Experienced in software architecture, DevOps, Agile (Scrum), clean code, Docker, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, Nuxt.js, Vue.js, Python, R, LaTeX, PHP, Symfony framework, SQL, APIs and authentication, testing incl. unit testing, e2e testing, regression testing, API testing, git, bash.
- Some experience with AI: data science, vector stores (Weaviate), RDF graphs and language models.
