Add images (or widgets?) for branding #425
Comments
In the case of my documentation, I have a handful of pages produced by Sphinx and a large amount of static pages which do not contain any branding. So I'd like to include discrete images in this case. For example: https://jquantlib.readthedocs.org/en/latest/_static/javadocs/latest/jquantlib/index.html |
This would be awesome. The RTD logo is in the repo as a vector graphic if anyone wants to take this on. I'm not very good at the design things, so I'm not much use here. |
@ericholscher do you have any branding/usage guidelines text for RTD brand assets? For example: Also is this the RTD logo to which you refer? If you provide the text, I can provide the necessary digital artwork to align with your requirements. |
@ericholscher what's the status of this? are you still interested on this? @stevepiercy, are you still available to work on the design? |
@humitos yes, available, pending guidance from @ericholscher. |
I'd say @agjohnson is the best person to ask. We have some branding stuff located here: https://github.com/readthedocs/guidelines and he's the one who has put it together. Having widgets either in that repo or based on that would be my initial thought. |
Yup, guidelines repo above contains the best images. It's probably best to make badges there. For anyone looking to take on this work, feel free to create an issue there with some mockups. Closing this issue due to inactivity, I think we can discuss more on our guidelines repo either way. |
I would like to not only add links to readthedocs.org, but also put some discrete images (or maybe widgets?).
So I suggest you guys design something similar to widgets you can find in this page:

In regards to rtfd.org, you could be designing 'special' images (or maybe widgets?) for it too, obviously taking into account the funny caracter catalized by RTFD.
