I noticed that the license in your repository says 'Copyright by the Rust Twig Team.'

I think we are not allowed to change the LICENSE at all, except maybe for whitespace characters, unless they change the meaning. However, we could add something like a TWIG_TEAM.md to the repository.

I have read somewhere that you can actually prepend another copyright line at the begining of license, while leaving subsequent text identical. That's what I did there.

That would be cool - otherwise the claimed authorship might really be a bit misleading. But I also respect open source licenses. Can you find a trustworthy source that says it's ok, to do so? At least on Wikipedia I couldn't find a hint about it.

Rust project itself has COPYRIGHT file where it lists all licenses of derived work verbatim.

License should be MIT+Apache2, like the rest of Rust ecosystem. Old license has no power in case of full rewrite; otherwise, such projects as wine would not exist.
