Summary

Status in place of Importance as concept name

Source

personal contribution

Detail

The descriptors "Mandatory", "Recommended" and "Optional" are manifestly not modifiers or categorisations of the concept "Importance". The NHS data dictionary and model, for example, uses the word "Status" for this concept. I propose adopting the name "Status".

Where

Throughout

Proposal

Replace the name of the concept currently represented using the word "Importance" with the word "Status".
