Hey @rockbot and @ashleygwilliams, we'd like to extend an open invite to you both to come up to Sactown and teach us some cool stuff!

  • Our Meetup Page
  • We meet every 4th Tuesday at The Urban Hive
  • Meetups typically start at 7pm
  • We usually do one 45-minute talk, two 30-minute talks, or three 20-minute talks. But we're flexible. Go long, go short, bring a friend! Its all 💯
  • Talks followed by open-ended socializing time
  • SF to SAC is ~1.5hrs by car, ~2hrs by Amtrak (free wifi!) (I can pick-up/drop-off & the last train leaves at 9:30pm so there would be a time cap on the evening)
  • Nov/Dec is bad for us due to holiday schedules, but we're wide open starting in January (which is our first birthday! 🎂🎉)

Let us know if you have any other questions!

hi! i'm totally interested in this. it could also work well for me as @wafflejs would like me to speak in Feb, potentially.

need to get travel approved by npm... unless ya'll sponsor speakers somehow?

Hi! Sorry for the late response, was doing the whole JSConf thing.

If you are in, we're in! While we are actively pursuing better sponsor support to help offset travel expenses for speakers, we do not have anything in place yet.

I've seen you both speak before and I'm excited for the opportunity to bring your voices to the Sacramento community!

If there is anything you need leading up to the meetup on Jan 26, please don't hesitate to ask!

Yay! 🎉 Let us know if there is anything we can do to help reduce that last 10%

@rockbot Any update on your availability/interest? We'd love to have a "wisdom" of wombats up in here!

I'm not above bribery so wanted to let you both know that I've got two JS logo knit caps (the ones from JSConf Last Call) on the way for each of you! 😄

@dlindahl gahhh totally missed the update - sorry about that!

I'm in for the 26th, as long as @ashleygwilliams gets the 👍 for travel via npm :-)

@ashleygwilliams Your US tour plans appear to be coming along nicely 😄 Any updates on your availability for the 26th?

Also, I'll need some talk titles/descriptions from both of you for a formal announcement that I'd like to make next week. Most of our attendees have never been to a conference which is why I'm excited to have both of you up to share your speaking talents with us! If you want to try out a new talk or practice one you've given before, we're open to pretty much anything.

@rockbot: I hope you can do your "Go Home/Outside" talk that initiated this whole thread, but if thats not ready, that is also OK.

Thanks again for making this happen! Please let me know if you have any questions for me!
