Provide expert review
A company or organization that Whose Data? is researching is called a ‘case’.
We aim to have each case verified through 3 types of research:
secondary research (aka surfing the web)
primary research (aka contacting the company/organization directly)
expert review (aka feedback from an expert in the field, such as law or policy)
Once secondary research is available, a case can be put up on this website — but it won’t be verified ✅ until 3/3 types of research have been completed.
Helping to provide expert review involves a legal or policy professional with relevant expertise reviewing a case, providing feedback, and verifying its accuracy.
2. Review the case
Add feedback, comments, questions and/or suggested references as comments on the issue.
3. Verify the research is accurate
Once you are satisfied the research in the case is an accurate reflection of the policy and law, add a comment to the issue to that effect.
Here is a template you can use: As a [profession] with expertise in [X, Y] I verify that the information in this case is accurate, to the best of my knowledge. [your name] [your contact info, eg email or social media] [OPTIONAL: your website]
