Usually in COPYING (1) or LICENSE (2). I'd expect it's GPLv3+ by association with GNU Nano, but explicit is better than implicit ;).

Maybe a missed 'git add COPYING'? c98a379 looks unrelated to me:

Yep, sorry! I forgot the add. The real fix is in 1c2bba7. I don't really like like COPYING files. The license should be sufficient.
