Object doesn't support object or method 'attachEvent' in IE11

I'm recieving a JavaScript error when i try to click on a button that
will submit changes made to a web form.  The error I am receiving is:

An error has occured in the script on this page
Line:  2004
Char:  9
Error: Object doesn't support object or method 'attachEvent'
Code:  0
URL:  file:///C:/Users/VISWAN~1.RED/AppData/Local/Temp/customProfileDir63ca9ea764e3461c85064e7aa47a7118/core/scripts/selenium-browserbot.js

Once the test is finished, the error will still be displayed if I
manually click on the button.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I can verify this is an issue with 2.28. This should be a high priority as it prevents
running any tests on IE11.

Lowering priority as RC API is deprecated. Please consider migration to WebDriver API.

I got around this by using the instructions from http://superuser.com/questions/643457/set-internet-explorer-10-to-always-open-in-ie9-browsing-mode-in-windows-7
to set IE11 to always launch in emulation mode for IE10. Perhaps that'll work for you?
I found it needed to be the HKCU key rather than the HKLM one, and for IE10 mode on
IE11 use a decimal value of 10001 rather than 9999.

I'm using Selenium Server 2.39 and have the sample "attachEvent" Popup problem... it
doesnt work If i start the server through command line with "-htmlSuite" neither programatically.

@James: But then I'm not really testing IE11, but IE10 emulation. I can already test
IE10 by running a VM (which I do).

If IE11+ is declared unsupported for the RC API, then that's fine with me (although
this particular error looks like an easy fix), but it would be great to have a clear
decision in this regard.
