As instructed by VMware KB http://kb.vmware.com/kb/196 it would be usefull to add <vmw:ExtraConfig ovf:required="false" vmw:key="keyboard.typematicmindelay" vmw:value="2000000"></vmw:ExtraConfig> under <VirtualHardwareSection> in the appliance ovf file.
