Resource data occasionally disappears

Sometimes the context for a resource is empty and doesn't seem to come back until I try to access the URL directly. I think this is due to Hipster taking too long boot on the free Heroku dyno. But I think we should be caching the last valid response to some extent. Any reasonable options?

If I recall correctly... the purpose of Hipster itself is to cache the latest valid response... I'm not going to rebuild Hipster myself.
