The 808TK features over fifty-three (53) 24-bit drum samples layered over sixteen (16) individual sound pads. The sound library has been curated for optimal use with 4x4 drum pad controllers and finger drumming:
- DRUMS: Kick (A) [SUB], Kick (B), Tom (A) [LO], and Tom (B) [HI]
- SNARES: Snare (A), Snare (B), ALT (A) [RIM], and ALT (B) [CLAP]
- HI-HATS: Closed Hat (A), Closed Hat (B), Mid Hat, and Open Hat
- CYMBALS: Crash (A) and Crash (B)
- PERCUSSION: Perc FX (A) [MARACAS] and Perc FX (B) [CLAVE]
Multiple sound layers per pad with independent volume controls for each layer enable you to create unique sonic textures by blending the drum samples used for each pad. Each drum pad responds to playing force through multiple velocity layers that provide clean, saturated, and driven variations for each sound. Round-robin sampling and non-linear sound design keep your beats from sounding robotic. Control switches provide a Loose/Tight option for the Hi-Hats and a Fast/Slow release option for the Cymbals.
The 808TK user interface (UI) provides controls for:
- Volume: Five (5) Drum Groups with independent Volume control knobs for Sound Layers A and B.
- Loose/Tight Switch: Varies the sample used for the Mid Hat and the release time for the Open Hat.
- Fast/Slow Switch: Varies the release time for the Cymbals.
