Hi, I'm Simon from Switzerland, and I have over 20 years of experience in data engineering. Through my blog, ssp.sh, I share about open-source data engineering and aim to offer authentic insights to our community.
At the heart of my efforts is the Data Engineering Vault, a curated network of data engineering knowledge to facilitate explorative learning and discovery. In the Vault, you'll find over 100+ interconnected terms, each serving as a gateway to deeper insights.
Currently, I'm writing a living book about Data Engineering Design Patterns (DEDP) available for free on dedp.online, where I steadily release new chapters of the book and carefully listen to all your feedback.
Ideas are backed by another passion, my sophisticated PKM workflow, which generates all the ideas and content I share. My productivity palette involves tools like Obsidian and (Neo)Vim(motions) which allow me to write at the speed of my thought. Most of which I share through my connected Second Brain with the wide range of topics in my life, but mainly involve data engineering, open-source, writing, personal websites, PKM, Vim, and much more.
Your support would mean the world to me. It fuels my dream job to write full-time, allowing me to delve deeper into data engineering and share even more with our community.
Stay updated with my latest projects here on GitHub, catch the latest updates on my Now Page, or dive into insights through my SELECT Insights Newsletter. You can also connect with me on Twitter and LinkedIn.
My aim is to dedicate myself full-time to writing and enriching the data engineering community. Your support will empower me to focus on expanding the Data Engineering Vault and continuously update my online book, Data Engineering Design Patterns. This goal will enable me to sustain my work as an author, creating valuable resources that benefit all of us in the field of data engineering.
