I really like tauview however it seems that it isn't able to be set as a default app for opening images on MacOS.

i.e.. File -> Get Info -> Open With -> File picker doesn't allow tauview to be chosen

Could this perhaps be added?

Thank you for using Tauview.

it seems that it isn't able to be set as a default app for opening images on MacOS.

Unfortunately, the Tauri framework on which Tauview is based does not yet provide an API for file association.
Therefore, it is currently impossible to set Tauview as the default application for displaying images.

You have the option of using LeafView, the Electron version of Tauview, as an alternative.
In exchange for its large footprint, LeafView implements almost all the features required for desktop applications.
You can also try LeafView if you like.

Best regards.

As Tauri 2.0 has released, this issue can be solved, I'm wondering if you consider updating Tauview to Tauri 2.0 and when the migration will take place? @sprout2000

Thank you for pointing this out.
I hope to migrate to Tauri v2 at some point, but I think it will take a lot of time due to its many disruptive changes.
Frankly, there is no prospect of when it will be realized.
