Logs

Log menu

  1. Upload logs (See TID 7014307 - How to upload Mobility log files to Novell)

    • Grabs current logs from /var/log/datasync/...
    • Grabs server information
    • Runs dsapp's general health check and gathers log
    • Creates a single tgz file and uploads to ftp://ftp.novell.com/incoming
  2. Set logs to defaults

    • Note: This should be done primarily in WebAdmin, which does not require a service restart.
    • Sets all logging to default INFO /etc/datasync/*.xml
    • Restarts Mobility services
  3. Set logs to diagnostic/debug

    • Note: This should be done primarily in WebAdmin, which does not require a service restart.
    • Sets all logging to diagnostic/debug /etc/datasync/*.xml
    • Restarts Mobility services
  4. Log capture

    • Start log capture, send test message with specific subject, stop capture
    • See results of mail flow through the Mobility agents.
  5. Remove log archives (See TID 7010533 - Mobility services shut down automatically)

    • This will remove log archives from /var/log/datasync, which can help reduce a disk space problem.
    • This also adjusts max logs for each engine from maxage 120 to maxage 14.
