Requires: libpanel-applet2-dev
e.g.: sudo apt-get install libpanel-applet2-dev

configure with --prefix=/usr to install properly
e.g.: ./configure --prefix=/usr


Here is an example script to install the latest on Ubuntu 10.10
sudo apt-get install libpanel-applet2-dev git build-essential
cd /tmp
git clone git://github.com/teleshoes/tbunreadcount-applet.git
cd tbunreadcount-applet
./configure --prefix=/usr
sudo make install
gconftool-2 --install-schema-file tbunreadcount-applet.schemas 
sudo rm -rf /tmp/tbunreadcount-applet
gnome-panel --replace & #restarts gnome-panel so you can add it to the panel
