There are a lot of things I'd like to add to the randomizer. No guarantees as to if/when any of them will happen, but people asking "When will X be randomized?" may be interested.

Things of current interest (no particular order or timeline):

  • Random NPCs: Mulbruk
  • Logic updates: general changes/improvements, expanded glitch logic
  • If possible, making Talisman and Diary activate Xelpud conversations without affecting your inventory (to help mitigate the issue of overwriting Mulana Talisman)
  • Allowing warps to Gate of Time grail tablets
  • Random NPCs change: dev room combos affect 3 random doors instead of vanilla location
  • Reduced number of bosses required to transform true shrine (need to consolidate flags used by randomizer first)
  • Expanded configuration of allowed starting weapons/locations
  • MSD file edits (Gate of Time backside door behavior, carrying over some shortcuts from non-PC versions)

Side projects:

  • Fools 2022 special build
  • Possibility of Halloween 2021 or Christmas 2021, currently undecided if either will happen

Things that might happen someday, but probably not any time soon:

  • Random starting locations: Shrine of the Mother, Dimensional Corridor, other parts of Gate of Time?
  • Race-related updates
  • Entrance rando improvements (transition numbering updates, possibly shuffling additional transitions)
  • Limited enemy randomization (subject to graphics limitations)
  • Boss randomization
  • Boss-specific ankh jewels
  • Configuration to restrict which random items can/can't be removed
  • Expansion of damage-boost settings/logic
  • Modernizing of old holiday modes

Things that probably won't be added for a while, if ever:

  • Music randomization
  • Pot randomization (aside from the one Shuriken pot in Illusion, this just makes finding money more complicated)
  • Tablet randomization (just requires reading a bunch of tablets that don't do anything)
  • Randomizing which mantra tablets give which mantras (doesn't really affect the logic)
  • Random medicine (the more interesting part is already available in plando)
  • Random Maternity Statue (it'd just be another case of Talisman/Diary/Mulana Talisman, except that the Maternity Statue does everything the Woman Statue can do plus a couple of extras)
  • Random graphics (graphics mods are already possible and compatible with randomizer)
