Difficulty System

The difficulty system increases Horde's difficulty in a multitude of aspects.

Enemy

  • Health scaling. Enemies have increased health.
  • Damage scaling. Enemies deal increased damage.
  • Numbers scaling: The number of enemies that you need to defeat in a wave increases.
  • Intensity scaling: Enemies will spawn closer and in larger packs. The maximum number of alive enemies will also increase. In short, this makes you feel that enemies are coming faster and denser.

Economy

  • Players receive less starting money.
  • Players receive fewer kill rewards.
  • Ammo boxes spawn less.

Mutation

  • Random mutations do not appear on Normal/Hard.
  • Random mutations occur more often on Nightmare difficulty.

Endless Mode

  • Endless scaling is exponential, starting at Wave 11.
  • The additional health/damage scaling from endless mode will stack with the difficulty system.

Misc

  • Players receive increased fall damage. On Realism, they receive realistic fall damage as would in Counter-strike: Source.
