[FEATURE] Add git tags to support marked version release

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
It would be ideal to start using tags, as it would making packing apps easier, at least on Linux.

Describe the solution you'd like
Add git tags to mark version release. Ideally marking the few recent commits should do. It could be marked with either semantic versioning, or alternatively, the date-time format.
