This issue was reported by Sophie Hebden from ESA:

Paul and I have found a glitch with the development version of CfS using Safari browser on a Mac.
We found that if you view a dataset with it auto-rotating the 3D globe (you have to go from the home screen so it auto-rotates) and then click on the 2D button, it accidentally auto-rotates the 2D globe.

It didn't happen for me at first but after a while of clicking back and forth and getting the auto-rotate on, the 2D map spins for permafrost, aerosol, biomass (we didn't test exhaustively all the datasets).
