Managing Variant Editor Permissions

I'm not sure this is the 'right format' for understanding the hack... but I wrote a blog post here:

Basically I'm making it possible to have User Groups that define which language variant a particular user is able to edit, and making the default language 'read only', but whilst most of that is achievable via the EditorModelEventManager SendingContentModel c# event... the dropdown where people can switch languages didn't have an extension point :-(

which is where I hooked into GetAllLanguages

to then 'filter' by the current editor's User Group permissions to limit the list of options - also then works for the dialogs for publishing too!
