I admit this is sort of low-pri: But it would be great to be able to theme some of the stock Mac ui elements into flat colors to create a distraction free experience somewhat like this:

I really like how the vertical splits and status bar are very simple, flat colors. I guess Vim was ahead of its time - flat before flat was cool!

I do appreciate the option to have the mac elements in Vico as is - sometimes, that's what I'm looking for.

Definitely low priority hehe. Still, an interesting thought. Rather than clutter up the issue here too much, can you suggest how you see it working at http://discourse.hacklanta.com/ so we can discuss a bit? That way we can keep the issue focused on implementation if/when the time comes.

Scanned the discussions - tons of great ideas and sound design discussions going on. Feeling like the project is in good hands now! Can I ask why github wasn't sufficient for discussing the issues - I only ask because I haven't seen a site like discourse.hacklanta before.

As a committer on the Lift framework, I've found their division of tasks (issues) vs discussion (Google Groups, in their case) to work quite well. While Vico isn't at the point where strict controls on that kind of thing are needed, as it grows, it'll be important to channel bug reports and such to discussion first, so as to minimize duplicate filings and filings of bugs that are simply features the users don't understand, etc.

I settled on Discourse instead of Google Groups because, while mailing lists have a more accessible interface in a general sense, I find them harder to follow, and haven't yet found a truly great UI for them. Discourse, on the other hand, gets a lot of things right, including the ability to branch off conversations that deserve their own thread in a very nice way that is clear indicated in the UI.

That sounds pretty cool. Only thing missing is login with github! ;)

True enough. I'll see if they're tracking an issue for that! :)

Try discourse now, there should be a login with github option.
