In section 2.1, suddenly a sentence starts with "I". The status section did say the documents was subjective, but mentioned "authors and contributors". Maybe the "I" should be a "we", or possibly the document should start using "I" already in the introduction.

This is a translation artifact. The original sentence did not use any pronoun at all, as is often the case in Japanese. Sentences that have a pronoun in English often elide it in Japanese, so when translating from Japanese, it's not always obvious which pronoun to use, or whether an impersonal phrasing should be used. In this case, the latter would have been preferable.
