Note that this is a proposed experiment for WICG/interventions#35, and depends on whatwg/dom#365. We'll wait to see if that experiment is successful and whether the DOM change lands before considering merging this PR. That said, this looks reasonable to me. |

I'm kind of curious as to why we're not looking at doing this for EditNevermind, I see why :) (the reasoning was included in the WebKit bug) |
