DIY Spot Welder made with an Arduino and a Microwave transformer.

TODO:

  1. Debounce the switch
  2. Build electrode holders
  3. Add foot pedal switch

Please use caution while dealing with mains voltage :)

Parts Include:

  • Microwave transformer
    • secondary rewound with single turn 70mm^2 stranded copper, coated with heatshrink.
  • ArduinoProMini
  • OLED Display
  • Potentiometer
  • Pushbutton
  • Green and red LEDs
  • 220 Ohm resistor x3
  • Wires and heatshrink
    • For Mains voltage and DC circuitry
  • 50mm x 70mm perfboard
  • 5VDC 850mA switch mode USB power supply
  • Solid state relay
    • 40 Ampere 24-380VAC (3-30VDC input)
  • Powercord, powerswitch, and enclosure
