Huananzhi X99-TF Registry editing is required to allow drivers to enable the ReBar.

Would my Z97-Pro be considered working? I haven't tried the 16GB patch (only tested to 8GB), but it needs the replacement of the older 1204 NvramSmi module and the PciBus UEFIPatch to work. The GPU tested is the Intel Arc A380 (will test the A770 once I get a replacement power supply). |
@Tokobotenkai anything 4GB or higher is considered working but if you find a larger size doesn't I can add a note |
Hi, i have z270 m7 with 7700k. my motherboard has 4G decoding in bios. i also have gtx 1080. how to patch my bios? |
@EDK-Rise GTX 1080 doesn't support resizable bar |
@sidex15 But can you actually check what a name of this board?, im trying figure out how to patch mine X79, checking whats the difference between them, maybe i will find something. Or even better, save a bios file, and upload here. |
@aquamacho1 I just followed the X99 guide from Miyconst and use Enabling hidden 4G decoding... |
@sidex15 This is awesome, thx. I will just buy this mobo then :), im just kidding. |
@sidex15 I think macOS doesn't support large BARs not a problem with the bios or anything |
Yeah i'm using opencore 0.8.3 even with resizeapplegpubars set to 0 won't even boot to macOS... |
MZ32-AR0 (rev. 1.0) +ARC A380 +TESLA M40 (A380 has a 43 code after installing any driver later than 31.0.101.3277 on my platform. I don't know why Tesla M40 has "large memory range" by default. Does that mean there is a white list inside the bios for some rebar cards? ) After inserting ReBarDxe.ffs and running ReBarState.exe BAR size set to unlimited : (A380 works with the latest driver after doing these. A small issue i found is that Intel® Arc™ Control refuse to start. ) |
@gyhmz Tesla M40 doesn't have ReBar it just has a large BAR by default. |
I can confirm it works on a Supermicro H11DSi-NT (tested with bios v1.3, should work with the v2.4 as well). Tested with a 4090 FE. No patches needed, 256GB ram installed. Thanks a lot for making this tool. |
@Tokobotenkai Hey! Do you mind sharing modified bios for z97-pro, please? |
There you go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yZb9LkaTvvBjAkJfGSO-hPgm2L_W9SWH/view?usp=sharing I have random issues where my keyboard and mouse is not detected on boot, not sure if it is a dying USB or a BIOS issue though. |
@Tokobotenkai I have them on my Hero too. Funny enough they only occur after setting rebar state value. |
I suspect it is some device being mapped in the same error, but the error is intermittent. I workaround it by using a PS2 keyboard. |
@Tokobotenkai Thank you! If I'm going flash bios with programmer CH341A so I'll need to uncapsule bios into ROM format, right? |
@supermanz87 you have to use UEFIPatch. it's described in the README how to use it |
Asus Z170-P D3 : requires patch "Don't downgrade 64-bit BARs to 32-bit (by @Mak3rde)" |
@xCuri0 I found this:
Vit9696's code allows for nvramsmi to write on UEFI for Z97's Asus motherboards like my Maximus VII hero. Already tested it, and it works. Saved me from extracting nvramsmi from 1104 and replacing it on 3503. |
Motherboard: ThinkCentre M710t (more correctly ”Lenovo 3102", but most will probably find it under the machines name) |
Motherboard: Biostar B85S3+ ver6.3 |
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 Notes:
Really appreciate the great work here, you've saved me a hardware replacement. |
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87M-D3H
|
Any way to get into contact with rekh127 that got the REbar working on the maximus code IX? I need some help and he has the same set up and im wondering how he got it working |
Motherboard: Supermicro H11DSi Rev 2.0 Was not able to flash modified BIOS using the EFI shell script (flash.nsh) that uses the AMI Aptio Firmware Update utility - it fails some signature verification process and throws an error: Error 18 - Secure Flash Rom Verify fail. The modified BIOS can be flashed via the IPMI/BMC web interface - there is a BIOS Update option. |
@vlnka you asked "it seems that the flash utility is checking signatures of the BIOS file and ultimately errors out (error 18). The latest version of IPMI 1.52 adds BIOS Signature Verification and you are only able to flash bios 2.8, unless you desolver the BIOS chip or use a SOIC clip with a CH341 programmer to flash back an older version of IPMI/BMC firmware. So that's one reason for the error. But you then mentioned that through IPMI it worked, which is strange, because the signature verification is added to SMC, IPMI and EFI Shell. Did you get it working with 2.8? Previously I only had luck with 1.3. |
@CiprianFlorin-Ifrim Yes, I deleted the question when I figured out the solution. Correct, I am currently running modified 2.8 BIOS which I flashed over the stock 2.8 BIOS using the This is the modified BIOS image I made and used. Use at your own risk: There are some minor caveats:

Is there a reason why 64GB of RAM won't work with 16GB A770 or can it be fixed? I kind need 64GB in my use case and nonetheless having to put 32GB of RAM I just purchased to waste is a bummer too... Edit: Just checked that 32GB is not working too. #4 (comment) |
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro Wifi (v1.0) edit: fixed BAR size. |
Will this work with M5A97 R2.0? |
Might be a limitation with your motherboard chipset. On my Z97 PC Mate, the largest Bar size I could get was 8GB. Intel drivers refused to enable ReBar for my 16GB A770 while AMD allowed it to work by reducing the GPU's VRAM to 8GB and performance absolutely tanks if you exceed that 8GB. |
@gittyaf I did manage to get rebar working with AMD GPUs so my guess is Intel is just built different lmao. I didn't test with a AMD GPU with more than 8gb of VRAM tho, I will do it when I got some time to spare. Have you encountered the issue of 4gb+ ReBar? -> #4 I think fixing this will eventually fix the problem. I'm running 1gb ReBar for A770 for now, and in Unity games it seems working just fine. The frametime is somewhat stable and performance is inline with a 3060 Moblie, which according to PassMark is slightly more powerful than A770. I've test some DX12 titles too. Just that it seems Intel driver gets mad for this and I've got tons of bugs(black screen when fullscreen but can see the game when pressing Windows key, etc). |
@vlnka are you able to do the same with the H11SSL bios? because im trying it at the moment for around 3 hours, with the 2.8 and 3 version and im getting for both the signature error. CiprianFlorin-Ifrim mentioned.... |
@Xyz00777 you won't be able to fix it, I spent hours with UEFI Shell, IPMI, bios flashing, and other Supermicro remote solutions for the terminal. Easily over 10h doing research. As long as you have done any modifications like enabling AMD CBS or added rebar etc, they will not get flashed, which means the signature feature works well. I'm surprised @vlnka 's actually flashed easily. Get an EEPROM programmer and a SOIC clip (or just desolder the chip) and program the IPMI/BMC software to the last version before 1.52 (which added signature verification). I spend 10h trying and research everything, desoldering the chip, reflashing and flashing it took me 1h. Just go for it if you really need rebar. |
i also had contact with the supermicro support (support@supermicro.com) a few days ago and they had let me know, that they are not considering at the moment because they had just added it to H12 series. BUT they also said, that when enough persons are requesting it than they may considering it in the future to built it in officially. so maybe if you two also request it they will built it in. especially if it is really "just" an ff file who needed to be added like with these instrcution here... then the H11 series would be officially be supported with rebar... |
@Xyz00777 I didn't really do any magic to the BIOS file, I just followed the steps outlined in the wiki. I modified the H11SSL BIOS image you shared using the exact same method and got this (use at your own risk): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yOX826igfM_f05zJWWPS2cSzBgsfVz-E/view?usp=sharing I'm not sure why it worked for me and why it isn't working for you. I just opened the BMC web interface, opened the Maintenance > BIOS update section, uploaded the modified BIOS image and it didn't ask for anything, didn't throw any errors. I rebooted, ran ReBarState.exe, set it to 32 (unlimited), rebooted again and ReBAR was working |
@Xyz00777 considering these motherboards are from 2017 and developed even a few years prior to that, I highly doubt it would happen. Especially since now Supermicro is having some legal troubles around fake "bookkeeping". So yeah, pay 10$ for an eeprom flasher, move back to 1.48, stay on that and you'll be able to use any signed or non-signed bioses forever and call it a day. |
yeah its sadly not working. |
Hello Can Someone help me to activate rebar on my computer ? I really don't know how it works to modify the bios iso. The closer computer from mine is the one just over there M710s, i have a M910s (and the same graphic card a380). Thanks for your help @Tectrek |
Motherboard: Acer IPIMB-AR https://github.com/Ian275/IPIMB-AR_UEFI After restarting, the motherboard sometimes gets stuck after the POST with no display output. |
Hi, Do you mind sharing modified bios for Asus Z97-A, please? if you have time ill appreciate that you can use one of those: original one or updated one in ROM format (choose the one will worked better) https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/offer-asus-z97-a-updated-bios/32089/13 |
Hi @Tectrek . How did you enable Coffee Lake and Coffee Lake Refresh? I am wroking on an M920Q and Using an I7 8700 with intel chipset 300 series and Intel Arc 380. Got 4g Decode working and some games seem to go up to 5 Gig VRAM usage, but My scenario is for AV1 encoding and ReBar is mandatory in that instance. Thanks. |
Motherboard: AsRock Z97 Extreme6 CPU is i7-4790K - Devil's Canyon. I used the Haswell instructions. DSDT had to be cut down a lot to work, I just barely got it small enough to squeak by. SLI is disabled as a result. I used the modified BIOS from Lost-n-BIOS on Winraid for this mobo as a starting point to expose Above 4g Decoding in the UEFI menu before installing ReBar. Prior to patching and using ReBar, the GPU would error out on code 12 without fail, independent of any drivers, and cause frequent system freezes and crashes whenever installed. My BIOS, Lost-n-BIOS' original BIOS, and my modified DSDT's are available here, to make this easier for anyone else on this same board: https://github.com/wakawaka888/Z97EXTREME6-unlocked_BIOS Photos: |
Motherboards which don't support at least 2GB BAR size are considered not working.
