Feature Request if it does not already exist - line continuation for .conf files

I know development has somewhat stalled on this excellent app, but in case it picks up again a nice enhancement would be the ability to escape newlines to make editing the .conf files much easier. I'm not a programmer; I haven't found a way to do this so many of my .conf files have status lines numbering into the 70s.
