• 已经在看一张照片时，从访达再打开一张，会新开一个窗口，原来的窗口不动。
• 在访达里选中几张一起打开（最多 6 张），每张一个窗口。
• 「文件 › 新建窗口」（⌘N）开一个空窗口。「窗口」菜单按文件名列出所有窗口。
• 想要以前那样替换当前窗口，在 设置 › 通用 里取消「在新窗口里打开」。

Multiple windows

• Opening another photo from Finder while one is showing now starts a new window and leaves the first one alone.
• Select several photos in Finder and open them together (up to six) for one window each.
• File › New Window (⌘N) opens an empty window, and the Window menu lists windows by file name.

RAW opens instantly

• RAW photos now show the camera's large embedded preview first and decode the RAW itself only when you zoom in far enough to need the detail.
• Measured on a 40 MP Fujifilm X-T5 RAF: time to first image dropped from about 4 s (first open) / 0.8 s to about 0.2 s, fast paging through RAW keeps up, and memory after opening a RAW folder fell from about 2.4 GB to about 0.2 GB.
• At 100% the RAW-rendered image replaces the preview, so colors may shift slightly from the in-camera JPEG.

One-click updates

• When Check for Updates finds a new version, click Update Now and Flipic downloads, verifies and replaces itself, then reopens with your settings intact.
• Before installing, it confirms the new version is signed by the same developer as your current Flipic and notarized by Apple; if anything doesn't match, nothing is installed.
• If Flipic isn't running from Applications, can't write there, or isn't the official build, it explains why and falls back to downloading in your browser.
• Upgrading from an older version still takes one manual install; from 0.6.7 on, every update is one click.

Open photos wrapped (optional)

• Turn it on in Settings › General and photos opened from Finder start in the wrapped Space view, with every photo you page to wrapped as well. Space or Esc returns to the regular window. Off by default.

• Reverse paging direction: turn on Reverse Paging Direction in Settings › Mouse & Trackpad and the photo follows your fingers like on a phone: swipe down for the previous photo, up for the next. Works for the scroll wheel and the trackpad (with the wheel set to Previous / Next Photo).
• Thumbnail sizes: choose small, medium, large or extra large in Settings › General; the strip grows with it and larger sizes are decoded at Retina resolution.
• Panning stops at the edges: when zoomed in, dragging stops at the photo's edges instead of sliding into empty space, and any side narrower than the window stays centered.

Pause the slideshow

• Click the photo during a slideshow to pause it ("Paused · click to resume"); click again to resume.
• While paused you can still page with ← →, rate with 1–5 and press 0 to zoom in, which makes culling during a slideshow easier. Press S or Esc to end the slideshow.
• Double-click zoom and dragging to pan never pause playback.

HDR

• 新增 HDR 显示：iPhone 拍的 HEIC、带增益图的 JPEG、PQ 编码的 HEIC 等 HDR 照片，亮部会比普通白更亮，和系统「预览」一样。
• 在 设置 › 通用 里打开，默认关。需要 macOS 14 或更新版本和支持 HDR 的屏幕（如 MacBook Pro 的 XDR 屏）。HDR 照片占用的内存是普通照片的两倍，普通照片不受影响。

幻灯片

• 幻灯片渐变和手动翻页的渐变分开设置：关掉「翻页渐变」后，幻灯片照样渐变。
• 幻灯片渐变时长可选 0.5、1、1.5、2、3 秒，默认 1 秒（原来是 0.25 秒）。
• 修复渐变时照片被拉伸：竖图切到横图时，旧图会被横向拉宽。现在两张照片各自保持比例，只做淡入淡出的叠加过渡。
• 放映时不动鼠标，底部缩略图栏和工具条一起隐藏，照片铺满屏幕；动一下鼠标再出现。

检查更新

• 新增「Flipic › 检查更新…」，点了才联网。
• 设置里可以打开「自动检查更新（每天一次）」，默认关。有新版本时窗口顶部出现一条小提示，不弹窗；点 × 后这个版本不再提醒。
• 检查只向官网请求一个版本号文件，不发送任何数据。Flipic 默认不联网。

HDR

• New HDR display: HDR photos such as iPhone HEIC, JPEGs with a gain map and PQ-encoded HEIC show highlights brighter than regular white, just like in Preview.
• Turn it on in Settings › General; it is off by default. Requires macOS 14 or later and an HDR-capable display such as the XDR display on MacBook Pro. HDR photos use twice the memory of regular ones; regular photos are unaffected.

Slideshow

• The slideshow crossfade is now separate from the paging crossfade: turning off Fade Between Photos no longer removes the slideshow fade.
• Choose a slideshow crossfade of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 or 3 seconds; the default is 1 second (it was 0.25).
• Fixed photos stretching during a crossfade: going from a portrait to a landscape photo used to widen the old one. Each photo now keeps its own proportions and simply dissolves into the next.
• While the slideshow runs and the mouse is still, the thumbnail strip and toolbar hide and the photo fills the screen; move the mouse to bring them back.

Update check

• New Flipic › Check for Updates…, which goes online only when you click it.
• Turn on Check for updates automatically (once a day) in Settings; it is off by default. When a new version is out, a small notice appears at the top of the window, with no dialog; click × to skip that version.
• The check fetches only a version file from the website and sends no data. Flipic stays offline by default.
