Awesome filter thanks for the extension!

Ubuntu 16.04.2 GNOME 3.20 dell xps13 2017
When I press the show all applications button/super + A it lags really long. About 0,5 seconds.

Did you press super+A while the overview was already visible, or did you press it from your normal desktop? Because on my system super+A from my normal desktop instantly shows the "all applications" view, whereas pressing super+A while the overview is visible takes longer because of the default animation of the app icons.

For me, from both starting points it shows lag; and the lag is also present when going to Activities.

Same here on Dell XPS 13 (9360) with i7-7500U and Intel HD Graphics 620 and GS 3.24.3 on Wayland (Archlinux)

Does this issue still persist with the newest version of the extension from this repo?

This should be fixed now with new ShellBlurEffect introduced in v7.
